The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU Election 2025) election has ended with a sweeping victory for the Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed panel. The final results were officially announced on Wednesday morning.

In the Vice President (VP) race, Shibir-backed alliance candidate Sadiq Kayem secured 14,042 votes, while the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal-backed candidate Abidul Islam Khan received 5,708 votes.
For the General Secretary (GS) post, Shibir-backed candidate SM Farhad won with 10,794 votes, defeating his nearest rival Hamim (Chhatra Dal panel), who managed 5,283 votes.
In the Assistant General Secretary (AGS) contest, Shibir-backed Mohiuddin Khan was elected with 11,772 votes, while his closest competitor Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed received 5,064 votes.

This year, a total of 471 candidates contested 28 central DUCSU posts. Additionally, in 18 dormitory student unions, elections were held for 13 posts, where 1,035 candidates competed for 234 seats.
There were 39,874 registered voters in this DUCSU election — 18,959 from five female dormitories and 20,915 from 13 male dormitories.
Voting was held on Tuesday (September 9) from 8 AM to 4 PM.
