Scientifically Measured Average Penis Size in Saudi Arabia

Welcome everybody to another episode of “Penis Around the World,” where I systematically look at the available scientific data on penis size in different countries. In this video, we’ll have a look at Saudi Arabia. My name is Dr. Stefan Bun Hog, and I am a board-certified urologist and specialist in sexual health.

Let’s start with crucial information about methods. I frequently receive comments saying that my measurements are false and that average penis size is much larger than what the data say. Therefore, I want to share my data acquisition process with you. First of all, this is not my data. I didn’t collect it, nor did I travel to these countries. This data comes from peer-reviewed scientific medical journals. I am not relying on tables from the internet because they don’t state where their numbers come from. Usually, the measurements I report are taken within a certain country by citizens of that respective country.

For example, in my video on penis size in Nigeria, the measurements were taken by Nigerian natives. In Korea, Korean doctors took the measurements. In Italy, it was Italian doctors, and so on. For this video on penis size in Saudi Arabia, I found three scientific studies. The latest measurements were published in 2024 at a single institution. They included 440 men with erectile dysfunction, and for the final analysis, they had 362 complete datasets. The mean age of the men included was 48 years. The aim of that study was to assess penile hemodynamics using injections to bring about an erection.

If you have never heard about this kind of investigation, I have a whole video on it. Using the injections, they measured erect penile length and girth. They performed two measurements for erect penile length: skin-to-tip and bone-to-tip. Depending on body weight, suprapubic fat accumulates, thus making the penis appear smaller. Penis size wasn’t the focus of this investigation, and maybe that’s why they didn’t provide standard deviations for their measurements.

The average erect size was 14.28 cm bone-to-tip (5.6 inches). The smallest penis in this cohort was 7.5 cm erect, and the largest was 20 cm. The average girth at the base of the penis was 11.36 cm, with 5 cm being the smallest and 16 cm being the largest measurement.

In 2015, the same principal investigator collected anthropometric measurements across Saudi Arabia in multiple urological units. The aim of that study was to create a nomogram of Saudi penile dimensions. This study included 778 men with a mean age of 43.7 years. Within this cohort, 348 presented with erectile dysfunction and other conditions, while 438 requested a premarital check to ensure everything was okay with penile size and function. Injections were also administered, and only subjects with full erections were included in the analysis.

The mean erect length bone-to-tip was 14.34 cm with a standard deviation of 1.86 cm. Skin-to-tip length was 12.53 cm with a standard deviation of 1.93 cm. Erect girth was measured at 11.5 cm with a standard deviation of 1.78 cm.

Another study from 2012 assessed a total of 200 healthy men with a mean age of 22.5 years. These men were born and lived in Saudi Arabia. The article doesn’t state how they were selected for evaluation or how erections were brought about. They measured using a tape ruler from bone-to-tip, and girth was measured mid-shaft. The results showed a mean erect length of 13.7 cm with a standard deviation of 1.6 cm, and a mean girth of 12.6 cm with a standard deviation of 1.5 cm.

In conclusion, the average erect penis size in Saudi Arabia remains below 6 inches. If you have watched some of my videos in the “Penis Around the World” series, you know I often refer to a meta-analysis including 15,521 men from different countries. In this international cohort, the mean erect length was 13.12 cm with a standard deviation of 1.66 cm, and erect girth was 11.66 cm with a standard deviation of 1.10 cm. The Saudi average is slightly above that but still under 6 inches.

I often receive comments doubting the validity of these measurements because people compare them to their experiences in locker rooms, saunas, or sex clubs. Please remember, there is a bias. Men with larger penises are more likely to show what they’ve got, so in certain places, you are more likely to find men with larger penises. Also, don’t make porn your standard. At 5’6″, you wouldn’t make the Lakers team either.

Personally, I perform these injection tests regularly, and from my experience, the measurements align with the studies. For those curious about the terms average, median, and standard deviation, in population-based studies, most values gather around the average, but extreme features also exist. The standard deviation shows how dispersed the data is around the mean value. The median is a kind of average that is more robust to extreme values. For example, with values 2, 4, and 15, the average is 7, but the median is 4.
