UK New E-Visa for Pakistani Students and Workers? No Documents Needed for Study – Visit – Work Visas. A new visa has been launched in the UK called the E-Visa. Just like the e-visas for Dubai and Malaysia, now you only need to scan your passport and send it, and you’ll receive an electronic visa. This is a new system that the UK has introduced. As I mentioned earlier, a new e-visa system has been launched in the UK, and you’ve probably seen that social media is full of hype about it — people claiming that now you can simply send scanned documents, pay a small fee, and get your visa. No bank statement, no documents, nothing. But that’s not true.

Unfortunately, the problem is that some people — even those from so-called credible platforms — don’t bother to study or verify information. They just chase views. I don’t do that. My article is late because I focus only on providing authentic and accurate guidance, not fake news for popularity.

Previously, when your UK visa was granted (especially student visas), you had to send your passport through VFS Global to the embassy, and it could take weeks or even months to get it back. Sometimes passports were lost, and if you needed to travel elsewhere, you couldn’t because your passport was stuck in processing.

Now, with this e-visa system, there will be no visa sticker on your passport. Instead, your visa will be issued electronically and directly linked to your immigration record.

This change was officially announced by Jane Marriott, the UK High Commissioner, on 15th July, saying that two categories — study visa and worker visa — have been converted into e-visas.

This change was much needed, especially for students, because earlier they had to submit passports and wait long periods. Sometimes the visa was already granted by email, but they couldn’t travel because their passports were still with VFS. Now, you’ll receive your visa directly via email, just like in Australia or Dubai.

You also won’t need to collect a BRP (Biometric Residence Permit) card after arriving in the UK anymore. This saves both time and cost, and reduces hassle during travel.

Some travel agents may tell you that you still need to get your visa “OK to board” — that is completely false. The visa will already be linked electronically with airline and immigration systems. Even Pakistan’s FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) has received an official circular confirming that they can now verify UK e-visas directly from the official website. So, no extra step is needed.

Now, some people are spreading misinformation that the UK has launched a new visa for Pakistanis or made the process easier. That is not true at all. There’s no new visa. It’s simply a shift from paper-based visas to digital e-visas.

Currently, the e-visa system applies to:

• Study visas, and
• Work visas, including subcategories such as:
  • Global Business Mobility Visa
  • UK Expansion Worker
  • Global Talent Visa
  • International Sportsperson Visa
  • Skilled Worker Visa
  • Temporary Graduate Visa
  • Youth Mobility Scheme Visa

However, note that some of these visa types are not available in Pakistan — for example, some are open to Indians or citizens of specific countries only.

The key condition is that the visa must be longer than six months. So, if your visa is valid for more than six months, you’ll get an e-visa. Short-term or visit visas are not included yet.

Dependents of students or workers will still get traditional sticker visas, because this is currently a pilot project. Over time, the UK government will test it, resolve any issues, and gradually expand it to include visit visas too UK New E-Visa for Pakistani.

So right now, only study visas and worker visas (without dependents) are being issued as e-visas.

Now, some students ask whether their passports will still be stamped when they travel. In countries like Australia, passports are no longer stamped — everything is electronic. Similarly, even if your passport has no UK entry stamp, your immigration record will be stored electronically, and it will count as part of your travel history.

However, with every new online system, there’s also the risk of fake websites and scams. Some people may create fake UK e-visa websites and emails to trick applicants. So please be very careful.

Always use your own email address when applying. Some agents and consultants use their own email to receive updates, which allows them to manipulate the information you get. If the email comes directly to you, you’ll know for sure that your visa is genuine and issued by the embassy.

Also, remember that you will still need to complete your biometrics. Without biometrics, no visa can be issued. You must visit VFS Global with your passport for fingerprinting, a photo, and passport scanning. After that, your passport will be returned to you, and the visa decision will arrive via email.

So, the process is almost the same as before — only the sticker visa has been replaced by an electronic visa.

Many bloggers and even some news channels are reporting that the UK has launched a new visa for Pakistanis or made it easier to get, but that’s completely wrong. The UK has not introduced any new visa, nor has it simplified the process.

There’s no reduction in fees, no easier application, and no shortcuts. It’s simply a digital upgrade to make the system faster, more efficient, and less dependent on paper.

This is the same transition that other countries like Australia, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia have already completed. The purpose is only to make immigration cost-effective, convenient, and hassle-free.
