New Absher Service Launches Saudi Arabia for Visitors Entering by Road

Absher Travel for Visitors is now live — a practical new digital service from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior that lets travellers complete key entry steps before they even reach a land border.

Available through the Absher app, it’s open to GCC citizens and other visitors arriving by road. The goal is simple: less waiting at the border, smoother processing, and a better overall experience.

What’s coming

The service will become mandatory six months after launch. Until then, it’s optional — but already useful if you want to get everything ready in advance.

What you can do

Through Absher Travel for Visitors you can:

  • Register your personal and vehicle details ahead of time
  • Arrange vehicle insurance
  • Complete other required travel formalities digitally

Everything is designed to feed into the automated entry systems at the border, so both you and your vehicle move through more quickly.

How to use it

  1. Open the Absher app before you set off.
  2. Select your nationality, mobile number and travel document type.
  3. Choose the land border crossing you’ll use and your expected travel date.
  4. Fill in the passenger, vehicle and insurance information.

That’s it — you’re prepared before you arrive.

The service works at all Saudi land border crossings, making road travel into the Kingdom noticeably more convenient for both GCC nationals and international visitors.

A small but welcome step toward faster, less stressful border crossings.
